The spirit of holiness is a believer's way of accepting the Holy Spirit. It's receiving God in all of His glory. It means guidance and doing His will. Such a Christian lives a disciplined life as he runs the race of life. His taste is for true freedom through the spirit. He declares victory in his actions, for he has been entrusted with the impulse to love God with his whole heart. In his lifestyle he finds glorification and approaches God daily on his knees, for he knows that he lives under His rule. He's part of the divine family that God has blessed. These precious gifts he has accepted through God's gift of Christ, who died for our sins and is risen to new life. This believer is certain of the true power of the indwelling spirit.

Shakti Gawain (b. 1948) is a New Age and personal development author who thought, “Every time you don't follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual darkness.” A Christian filled with the spirit of holiness will live triumphantly and even in darkness he'll know that his security is with the Lord.

Sickness of the Soul

What are your motives in life? Are you bogged down by everyday living? Are you a victim of universal sin? Do you feel rebellious? Are you living in debt? Are you morally bankrupt? Do you suffer from sickness of the body, mind and spirit? If these things are a part of your life, you may be suffering from the sickness of the soul.

Marilyn Monroe (1926 – 1962) was an American actress, model and singer who became a major sex symbol during the 1950s and early 1960s felt, “I am good, but not an angel. I do sin, but I am not the devil. I am just a small girl in a big world trying to find someone to love.” As Monroe puts it, her main motive is to find love in a big world. Her focus ought not to be on the false love of this world, but on God's true and abiding love. According to Godly principles, this must be the true epitome of successful living for all of us trapped in worldly love.

Moral Dynamism

By the Creator Himself, a believer is blessed with a strong assurance to do Godly things. He'll be of service, and every day will see him pursuing new moral aims. He'll find much richness in the content of the New Testament. By his lifestyle, he'll always be enthroning the living God, for he'll have a childlike trust in Him. Such a Christian will be willing to obey God's commandments, and be blessed in deciphering the intricacies of what's real legal righteousness. His demeanor will show him developing an increasing conformity to Christ.

Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862) who was an American author, poet, philosopher, and naturalist observed, “Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.” Thoreau was not prepared to settle on a basic type of morality of life. He'll want us to have meaningful lives. Most will agree that we must be the best we can, by how we live, the things we do, and say.

Friendship with Sinners

Peace, hopefulness and dedication must be a way of life for those that walk in the spirit of holiness. Such thoughts bring with them self-fulfillment with a new sense of spiritual community. A sinner has to be compassionate, has a repentant soul, and be committed to daily prayer. Through the grace of God, we'll be the recipients of salvation from our past misdeeds. This is the salvation that will free us from death. For, we'll be acquitted in judgment and Christ will expiate our sins. Our victory will find us like most repentant sinners, accepting the call of everlasting life.

It was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman and dramatist Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 B.C. - 65 A.D.) who said, “One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood.” Seneca may well be addressing us today for there's often blatant misunderstanding in public discourse. Confusion reigns in our hearts and souls. To have true understanding and live in spiritual holiness, a believer has to pray to the Holy Spirit who is the Provider of all good gifts. God loves every single sinner that has been estranged from Him. This is a privilege that's extended to all men.
